Set up your readathon in 7 steps

The preferred path is the CSV import — it does everything at once. Manual tools are below if you need to make changes or add a few people.

  1. STEP 1

    Create your campaign

Name, dates, goal. You sign the School Campaign Agreement here — one per campaign.

    Dashboard → Add Campaign

  2. STEP 2

    Download the CSV template

One row per student with the parent’s name and email. Leave passwords blank.

Manage Users → Import → Download template

  3. STEP 3

    Import students & parents

Classes are created automatically from the Class Name column. Accounts are created in a pending state — nobody is emailed yet.

    Manage Users → Import

  4. STEP 4

    Bulk Invite

Everyone pending gets a “Create My Account” email with a 7-day link. Send it when you’re ready for families to start.

    Manage Users → Bulk Invite

  5. STEP 5

    Families set their own passwords

From the link, “Forgot password?”, or Google sign-in. Teachers can reset a student’s password anytime.

    Automatic

  6. STEP 6

    Reminders run on their own

Teachers, students, and parents get three short emails during the campaign (getting started, nudge, ending soon). Donor texts and emails go out on your SMS schedule.

  7. STEP 7

    Request your payout

After the campaign ends: Funds & Payout → Request Payout. Allow up to 30 days.

    Dashboard → Funds & Payout

Fees & payouts, in short

  • 15% of donations, or 10% if your school has 150 or fewer students. Your dashboard shows exactly what you keep.
  • Nonprofit schools upload their 501(c)(3) letter and receive net proceeds directly.
  • For-profit schools receive funds for approved educational expenses — scholarships, curriculum, books, equipment — described when you request a payout.
  • Expense approvals, scholarship applications and payout questions: Irina Feofanova, irina@enlightlearning.org. Allow up to 30 days. Questions after your campaign: 509-944-1382.
